Island Iž

Located between Dugi Otok and Ugljan, with area of 17.6 sq. kilo­meters. It is surrounded with about ten small picturesque islands, and the settlements are Mali and Veli Iž. The island was already inhabited in prehistory and in the written sour­ces it is mentioned since the 13th century. In the Middle Ages it was owned by the noblemen and citi­zens of Zadar. The inhabitants live of agriculture, wine-growing, fish­ing, and tourism. Iž is often the starting point for excursions to the national park Kornati.

Marina: TANKERKOMERC Iž VELI. It is a part of the marina in Zadar, with 50 places on the float­ing docks and 200 places on the dry docks. The workshops, services, toilets and exchange office are in­cluded in the marina. It is open through the whole year.
