The island with the area of 2.4 sq. kilometers, located 1.6 kilometers south-east from Vodice. There are two settlements: Prvić luka and Šepurine. The inhabitant live of vineyards, olive-groves, orchards and vegetable gardens, and fishing.
PRVIĆ LUKA It is the village with be beaches. The parish church is from the 15th century. The scientist, mathematician and historian Faust Vrančić that died in 1617 was buried here. ŠEPURINE It was founded by the inhabitants of Srima in the 16th century. The painting »Our Lady with the Child«, the work of some moster from Titian's school, the portrait of Faust Vrančić from 1605, and the statutes of Šibenik and Trogir are kept in what used to be the palace of the Draganić-Vrančić family from Šibenik. |
