Beaches on the island Vis:
When you come to island Vis, if you are without car or scooter or motorbike, don't miss to rent a scooter or cabrio in place Vis where fary boat stops. Island is small and you can ride it all in 1 hour. Then you'll be able to discover the most beautiful beaches in Croatia. Choose the road that goes from Vis to Podšpilje. After about 6km you'll see turn for Stončica bay. It looks like exotic Indonesian sandy beach, with palms and restaurant with home atmosphere. There is a beautiful lighthouse and few private apartments and whole houses to rent. Really tranquil, quiet place...
Another bay is in Ženka bay. There is a beautiful sandy beach, ideal for tourists with little children , because you can park your car behind the beach and you don't have to walk.
There is a way to go to Zaglav bay. This is something really great, but you have to leave your car in Ženka sandy bay or Milna and go by foot for about 20 minutes. All this side of the island is full of sandy and pebbles beaches, can't say witch is the most beautiful.
After Zaglav Bay is Milna and Brgujac and then after village Postražje comes Rukavac and Srebrna. Srebrna beach (Silver Beach) is situated in the Rukavac village near Milna. Srebrna is especially beautiful white pebbles beach. Close to the Rukavac Bay there are two small islands- Budikovac and Ravnik with the famous Green Cave which can be visited by organized excursions by taxi boats. Srebrna has lots of pine shady places to hide from sun and sleep, watching the sea ,eat and make picnic.
If you continue to investigate the southern side of the island and take the road from the Podstražje village to Žena Glava village, there is the way to come to Stiniva bay, one of the most beautiful and secret on the island. Way to get to the bay is around half of the hour by foot, so it is not recommended for couples with children unless you use boat from the Rukavac bay or Komiža place.
Island Vis is surrounded by small islets: Budikovac, Ravnik, Brusnik, Parzanj, Greben and the biggest islet Bisevo in front of the Komiza place.
